happy australia day?

Sydney

Well after a bad start to sydney, which consisted of roaming the streets bedless till 2am after a hostel messed our booking up, our stay in sydney was acctually pretty good!!!!

The opera house and sydney harbour bridge were our first stop along with a nice walk in some gardens.. Tbh the opera house looks more impressive in photos but shsssh i didnt say that!!

We visited all the art galleires and musuems, one called the powerhouse was fun, they had a back to the 80,s exhibition on!

Now for the day every australian looks forward too, the 26th January. Australia day.. it was a boiling sunny day, with all free concerts, boat shows, helicopters, planes, fireworks and of course beer hehe..

We dressed up for the occasion, tattoos and flags. The fireworks at the end of the night at darling harbour were defantly the highlight! The chinese man next too us defantly thought so too haha he was screaming his head off.

Hmm what else, oh yeah we took the ferry over to manly, which has a lovley beach and some cute shops.. I much prefare the beach to the city lol, defo not a city girl!

We stayed in big hostel, which was dead nice, free breakie and internet :) and the biggest tv iv ever seen!

Arr, we wnt the blue mountains, they are absolutly amazing! If anyone ever goes to sydney you have to go there! Its a 2hour train journey out the city, and once you get there its breathtaking, we went under waterfalls climbed up the mountians, saw the 3 sisters walked through the rainforests, rode the steapest railway in the world and went on a cablecar.. All in one day!! The pictures are wikid!!

theres lots more to tell from sydney, so il update again soon :)

Miss you all

We saw the 'big banana' jumped 7 metres off the jetty into the sea, saw a dolphin just swimming around, and had got attacked by seagulls while eating some very yummy fish and chips.. We stayed there four days is ausitel hostel, which tbh was like some old school camp place youd stay in, haha its all about the experience!!

The 2 most easternly people in oz?

Today we hiked our way up to the lighthouse and the most easternly point in australia.. God it was hard work, but the views were amazing.. The path took us past desserted beaches and the bluest looking water iv ever seen, the walk was about 4km :O walking in like 30 degree heat, defo worth it though, il get some pics on facebook soon.. The walk back was defantly the highlight for me, but defantly andrews worst nightmare, hehe.. There we are in our flipflops and the next thing we no were in a actual rainforest walking on a tiny little path, after about ten minutes of walking (up some v steep steps) andrew started screaming like a little girl, hehe.. There right in front of us was a snake, that was it andrew was sprinting the rest of the way.. we saw 3 snakes :O quite a comman occurance now lol..
Ohh but a new one to add to our list, we saw this huge lizard, i mean it looked like a comodo dragon it was that big, just stopping its way through the bushes!! Wonder if they even have them in australia!?

We were proper backpackers tonight too, we cooked our own tea.. 89cents pasta hehe, i got to eat off my new leopard print plate i was happy!!

Last day in byron 2moro :C think were going for a bike ride :)

Sammy the sssnake..

We had a very upclose and personal encounter with a snake yesterday.. We were just happily walking along the path back from the beach, when next thing andrew jumped about ten feet in the air and started saying alot of bad words hehe.. And there he was, mr snake just sitting there with his head poking out the bushes, me and andrew not knowing much about snake apart from they BITE, and this snake was hugee, we just had to wait for him to cross the path, like it was a normal thing haha, then we legged it right back to the hostel.. Dont think we'l be walking that way again :p

We've had a cool couple of days in byron, v. Relaxing.. The waves here a really big, we had some funny moments in the water, espesialy with the boogie boards! Were taking a walk up to the light house today and hopefuly get to see some dolphins :)

Miss you all lots

Stop one: Byron Bay- 15th Jan?

We survived.. Our first night in the hostel, and its really not that bad lol. Were staying at the backpackers inn on the beach and sharing the room with scottish couple and an irish maybe scottish boy, not to sure lol

The hostels right on the beach, which seems to go on forever, il get some pics up soon, so when we got here yesterday we had a little explore, its a 5 min walk to the centre along the beach.. Byron bay is seriously like some little village you'd see on a country and western movie, non of the buildings are allowed to be built higher than 2 stories, byron is also known for its population of hippys.. Peace man :p
